The Walking Dead Volume 12: Life Among Them

The Walking Dead, Volume 12: Life Among Them - Charlie Adlard, Robert Kirkman

This edition was more of a 3.5 star read.

I reviewed volume 1-11 collectively in the compendium one bindup.

There is not a lot of zombie action in this volume. There is some focus on Rick and Carl, dealing with what happened to the twins and Carl's confrontation with Ben.

"I do a lot of things.. a lot of bad things to help you and all the other people in our group, and when you grow up you'll probably have to do that too, that's the world we live in now. Carl you need to never forget when we do these things and we're good people they're still bad things."

Rick and the crew are back on the road and they encounter a few strangers, who lead them to a new community. There is a sense of forboding and atmosphere, almost like they're being led down a path of uncertainty.

We're introduced to some new characters, inclduing a politician called Douglas. Douglas is the leader of a group of people who are trying to live a life normally, although we know this normal can't last in the zombie apocalypse.
